10 top ten places for the Mühlhausen judoka and 21 podium places

November 19, 2024 Neumarkt / District.

A total of 195 starters from Miltach in the south to Weiden in the north and Vohenstrauß in the east to Mühlhausen in the west met on November 16th and 17th for the highest judo tournament in the Upper Palatinate, the top ten tournament.

Many wanted to collect the reward for 6 tournaments in the U9 and U11 as well as up to 9 tournaments in the U13 to U18.

Under the motto “we are training for the 2040 Olympics”, the fighters from the Upper Palatinate judo district competed on the tatami over two days.

SV Mühlhausen was represented 24 times with 21 starters.

The overall result was impressive. With 7 gold, 8 silver, 7 bronze medals and 2 fourth places, the competition weekend went more than well.

The crowning glory of it all were the top ten honors, in which the Mühlhausen athletes were represented 10 times.

In the MU9 age group, Ben Bratfisch took a very impressive 5th place in the field of 56 starters. Jan Haubner, Theo Kayser and Lukas Wittmann placed among the 15 best.

The U11 boys’ category was dominated by David Haubner with 2nd place out of 68 starters. Lukas Wittmann, Ben Bratfisch and Martin Piehler were also among the 17 best.

The Langer sisters Antonia and Johanna left nothing to be desired in their field of 39 and took home their trophies with 7th and 8th place.

The U13 age group shot the bird with 7 starters with a total of 5 top ten trophies.

The girls took 4th, 5th and 7th place with Maresa Mößler, Sophia Corlateanu and Johanna Langer in the unfortunately quite weak girls field.

Toni Kayser and Simon Mößler were able to successfully defend third and sixth place in the field of 65.

Since two of the U15 girls left the club and the department, the department management could not be happy about the 6th and 8th places they would otherwise have received.

In the U18, Alpha Barry was able to catapult itself to 10th place in the U18 with a 2nd place in the tournament.

With these 10 top ten placements, the judo department of SV Mühlhausen is doing very well in the Upper Palatinate.

The offspring from the U9 and U11 age groups give hope for great things, perhaps also following the goal of “we are training for the 2040 Olympics in Germany” to bring one or more of the now very young athletes there.

The next dates are:

1.12.24 Sighting of the U13 in Schwandorf

7.12.24 Walhalla Cup with club rankings for the U11 and i14 in Neutraubling

8.12.24 Nikolaus Beginner Meeting 2024 for the years 2019 to 2012 in Vohenstrauß

17.1.25 Year-end celebration of the judo department in the clubhouse
