New success for Club Kyoto in the Spanish Super Cup

The Asturian town of Gijón hosted the Spanish Super Cup in the Junior category valid for the National Ranking of the category, in which two judokas from the Kyoto Club of León took part, who, given the difficulty of the test, obtained a good classification.

In this edition, the regulatory modifications that are expected to come into force next January and that everything seems to indicate will be: some leg gripping will be allowed. Most people agree that upright judo is more attractive to watch than leg-only judokas. Many people also agree that it is a shame that dynamic techniques such as kata-guruma and te-guruma, performed with leg holds, are not allowed.

There will be no shido penalty for leaving or pushing.

Hansoku-make will not be declared when the head lightly touches the tatami during a screening.

Marcos Porrero Curiel, in the weight of 60 kilos, with 39 judokas selected in his weight, had a bad start that he immediately corrected in the repechage. He lost the first fight with the Asturian Javier Simancas, to recover and beat the Basque Ioar Olano in his second fight. In the third fight he defeated the Galician Tiago Larramendi. In the fourth fight he knocked down the Galician Alberto Rodríguez. The Asturian Mario Taboada loses to Marcos and in the fight for bronze he beats the Cantabrian Darío Ortiz, getting a bronze medal and improving his position in the National Ranking. Chesco González García, in the weight of 73 kilos, with 38 competitors registered, he defeated Pinón Moral from Madrid in the first fight and in the second fight he beat the Basque Borda Galindo, only to lose the third fight against Andrés Suárez from Madrid. In the repechage he beats the Basque Unai Zuazua. He then defeated Óscar Pajares from La Rioja and lost the bronze medal match against Marcos Cabanas, qualifying in a creditable fifth place. Chesco, due to his studies, participates in the Extremadura Federation, selected in the Technique Center, although without losing the roots of the Kyoto Club, where he trains as soon as he can travel to León.
