The Jets‘ offensive game got better in the first attack of the second half. A nice drive over 6 minutes at the end of which Aaron Rodgers finds Garrett Wilson for 21 yards. 7:7.
And the game actually got going a bit now, because Houston was also able to score on its next attack after five minutes. Ka’imi Fairbairn was successful with a field goal attempt from 54 yards. 10-7 Houston.
The Jets’ next attack lasted a total of over 6 minutes and ended the third and opened the last quarter. And there was another touchdown. Aaron Rodgers again to Garrett Wilson for 26 yards. 2:10 p.m. Jets.
Houston now had a long drive that took them short of a field goal. Ka’imi Fairbairn tried from 27 yards but was unsuccessful.
And the Jets kept going, after a three-minute attack, Aaron Rodgers found Davante Adams for 37 yards for a touchdown. 9:10 p.m. Completely crazy, the New York Jets offense, which had done absolutely nothing in the first half, was able to score a touchdown with every attack they made in the second half. Houston didn’t give up yet and was able to score a field goal from 29 yards by Ka’imi Fairbairn. Only 21:13 left. But nothing more was possible.
The Jets won because they performed completely differently after halftime than before halftime. They had to punt five times in this game, but all before halftime. We have to talk about the topic of punishments again, there were nine in total. The defense has to be praised a lot because it managed to sack CJ Stroud 8 times. Aaron Rodgers was 22 of 32 for 211 yards and three touchdowns. Davante Adams caught seven balls for 91 yards and a touchdown and Gareth Wilson caught nine balls for 90 yards and two touchdowns.
The Texans suffered what they saw as a completely unnecessary defeat, the main problem being the poor offensive line. The running game was positive once again, 187 yards is very good. There isn’t really a threat to Houston in their own division yet, but at the moment I don’t know whether I really trust them or whether I believe they can get to the Superbowl this year. I still find it a bit too unstable for that. CJ Stroud had a terrible day going 11 of 30 for 191 yards. Joe Mixon had 24 people for 106 yards and a touchdown. Tank Dell could catch 6 balls for 126 yards. Jalen Pitre racked up ten tackles.
The Jets now have to go to Arizona, if they want to make the playoffs, then a win there is a must. Houston has a very interesting game and faces Detroit.
