Netflix announced last Sunday that the megastar would perform at halftime of the Christmas Day game in his hometown of Houston.
The streaming platform did not reveal details about the performance, but hinted that there would likely be guests from her album Cowboy Carterwhich earned him 11 Grammy nominations earlier this month.
Netflix will stream two NFL games this Christmas. The first game will pit the Kansas City Chiefs against the Pittsburgh Steelers, which suggests that two of the biggest stars in the world will participate in the event. Taylor Swift, who is dating Chiefs player Travis Kelce, has attended several of his games since the start of the year and will have finished her Eras tour by Christmas.
NFL games are the streaming giant’s latest foray into sports and live programming. The announcement comes two days after Netflix broadcast an evening of boxing featuring a fight between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul, which ended in victory for the YouTube influencer.
This broadcast was marred by broadcast problems for many users. At least 85,000 viewers have reported problems on the Down Detector site.
