The Chicago Bears fired offensive coordinator Shane Waldron on Tuesday, hoping to revive one of the NFL‘s worst offenses.
Aerial coordinator Thomas Brown was promoted to Waldron’s position.
These decisions come as the Bears (4-5) are going through a three-game losing streak and are experiencing numerous problems on offense, despite the arrival during the off-season of quarterback Caleb Williams, the first pick in the last draft of the NFL.
The Bears are 30th in the league in offense and 24th in points scored as of Sunday. The Illinois team has not scored a touchdown in two games in a row for the first time since 2004.
The Bears have had possession of the ball 23 times since they scored their last touchdown, in the final minute of play against the Washington Commanders in Week 8 of the NFL’s activities — they had then tipped on a long, desperation touchdown pass from Jayden Daniels.
