NFL: CJ Stroud and the Texans should reunite with Nico Collins on Monday

Houston Texans wide receiver Nico Collins is expected to return to action Monday night against the Dallas Cowboys after missing the last five games with a hamstring injury.

“I feel like I’m myself,” Collins said Friday. I feel like that was the main thing (in order to get back into the game). »

Collins led the NFL with 567 air yards before being injured on a 67-yard touchdown run on October 6 against the Buffalo Bills. His name was placed on the injured list for four weeks.

“You don’t want to miss any games, but it’s part of the game,” he said. It’s a long season, it’s a marathon and you want to take care of your body. But missing time hurts. You want to be on the field with your brothers and making plays. »

The Texans also lost Stefon Diggs for the remainder of the campaign due to a knee injury suffered on October 27.

Quarterback CJ Stroud is therefore very excited to be able to count on the return of Collins.

“He wants to be pitted against the opposition’s best defensive players. He wants tough routes and he wants to make tough catches, Stroud said.

“When he has the ball, he is dangerous. He is capable of turning a good game into a great one. He runs through the other players. He motivates everyone to play hard and I really feel like we missed that. »

Collins will try to help the Texans get back to winning ways, having lost their last two games and three of their last four.

“I want to change that,” Collins admitted. Every time I touch the ball I’m trying to score and just bringing that energy and having another playmaker on the floor adds a lot to the offense. I can’t wait to jump on the field and play. »
