NFL: disaster ahead for the Cowboys?

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott‘s 2024 season could be over.

Thursday, the daily Dallas Morning News argued that the pivot’s hamstring injury would require an operation that would prevent him from returning to the football field this year.

Officially, the Cowboys say they are still determining whether Prescott’s injury will heal on its own or if he will need to go under the knife. The quarterback’s name was placed on the team’s injured list, meaning he will be out for a minimum of four weeks.

The 31-year-old footballer’s troubles appeared in his team’s 27-21 defeat against the Falcons in Atlanta. After the game, he said he felt pain never seen before.

In eight games this season, Prescott has completed 64.7% of the passes he has attempted for 1,978 yards and 11 touchdowns. He was also the victim of eight interceptions.

Cooper Rush will work behind center for the Cowboys next Sunday, when the Philadelphia Eagles visit AT&T Stadium.

The Dallas club has maintained a 3-5 record thus far in 2024 and sits third in the National Association East Division standings.
