NFL fans worried about Netflix Christmas games after Friday night glitches

While 60 million households were in front of Netflix on Friday evening to watch the duel between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul, many people were victims of repeated bugs. In just over a month, the popular streaming platform will broadcast NFL Christmas games and many fans are worried.

We don’t know about you, but we watched Friday night’s fight on Netflix via Roku TV. At least, we tried… That was the initial plan when we encountered several bugs. Even though we restarted our system, there was nothing we could do.

We had to switch to a good old-fashioned method: we connected our laptop to our television with an HDMI cable. After this little DIY, we were able to fully enjoy the rest of the evening. However, the image quality was not always there.

The streaming platform revealed the ratings for the fight and looked very happy with the numbers. Netflix even took the liberty of commenting on the bugs without apologizing. “The boxing mega-event dominated social media, broke records and even strained our buffering systems,” the streaming platform noted in a social media post.

If this fight is now behind us, NFL fans are now worried about the broadcast of Christmas games.

Remember that the Kansas City Chiefs will face the Pittsburgh Steelers at 1 p.m. while the Baltimore Ravens will challenge the Houston Texans at 4:30 p.m.

While these two posters look enticing, fans are worried that there will be new bugs on Christmas Day.

“Dear Netflix, you have the Chiefs/Steelers AND the Ravens/Texans on Christmas Day. If there is 1% of what we all experienced today, I am canceling my subscription immediately. Sincerely, EVERYONE. (84 million people in the United States) »

“Netflix can’t even stream this properly and they want to host the NFL??? »

“It’s a disaster for Netflix. They have no chance of successfully broadcasting an NFL game between the Chiefs and Steelers on Christmas Day based on this performance. »

“Yeah, Netflix isn’t ready for the NFL, I can’t imagine that cold while trying to watch a game. »

“This was a test of potentially broadcasting live NFL games. It’s an absolute disaster for Netflix right now.”

We hope for you that your favorite team does not play at Christmas…
