The San Francisco 49ers expect tight end George Kittle to return this week for an important matchup against the Green Bay Packers.

However, they are not sure that defensive player Nick Bosa will be able to play.

The 49ers (5-5) lost 20-17 to the Seattle Seahawks over the weekend. Kittle did not play and Bosa left the game in the third quarter.

Kittle was out with a hamstring injury, but returned to practice Wednesday and said he will be back Sunday against the Packers.

Bosa is injured in his left hip and oblique muscle. He already had a similar injury on his right side and he admitted Wednesday that the pain on his left side was even worse.

“It’s getting better every day,” he said. We’ll see. It’s a little early to say, but we’ll see. We have a few days ahead of us. »

Quarterback Brock Purdy injured his left shoulder last Sunday and did not practice at full capacity Wednesday, but head coach Kyle Shanahan expects him to be at his position against to the Packers.

Running back Christian McCaffrey did not practice Wednesday to deal with Achilles tendinitis that kept him sidelined for the first eight games of the season.

Defensive player Trent Williams also had the day off as he dealt with an ankle injury that kept him out of all practices last week.
