Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence will reportedly not play in the team’s game against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday Adam Schefter from ESPN. Mac Jones is lined up to start.
We don’t know much about how Lawrence hurt his shoulder, or even what’s wrong. He was all over the place against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 9, going 16-of-31 for 169 yards and two interceptions. He had two touchdowns, but both were rushing touchdowns, so neither significantly affected his throwing shoulder.
The Jaguars officially declared Lawrence “questionable” on the injury report released Friday. Wednesday, when asked about his QB, Pederson He said Lawrence was “sore” and would be limited in practice.
According to NFL Network’s Ian RapoportLawrence is reportedly evaluating treatment options for his shoulder and surgery is on the table. Rapoport said in which, although surgery is not currently scheduled, is one of the options Lawrence is considering.
McCaffrey expected to return to the 49ers
Kyle Shanahan, coach of the San Francisco 49ers said Friday that Christian McCaffrey will be “ready to go” on Sunday. McCaffrey is expected to make his season debut this week against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after what Shanahan called an “impressive” performance in practice over the past two days.
The 49ers listed him as “questionable” for Sunday, but Shanahan has repeatedly said McCaffrey should be ready to play if all goes well. McCaffrey was officially activated from injured reserve Saturday.
McCaffrey has been out all season with Achilles tendonitis and calf tightness, and the first problems arose when he was scratched late in Week 1. He was soon placed on injured reserve, with a confusing timetable for the return to the field.
He was treated by a specialist in Germany in September and did not return to training until this week. He was listed as a limited participant in workouts this week.
With McCaffrey out, the 4-4 Niners have struggled to replicate last season’s success, both due to the running back’s absence and other factors. Jordan Mason handled the bulk of the running duties, recording 685 rushing yards and three touchdowns while averaging 5.1 yards per carry (McCaffrey averaged 5.4 yards last season).
Chris Olave will likely be placed on IR
New Orleans Saints wide receiver Chris Olave is expected to be placed on injured reserve due to a concussion, according to NFL Network. Ian Rapoport.
Olave suffered a head injury after an illegal blindside hit in Sunday’s loss to the Carolina Panthers. He was taken off the field and hospitalized for further evaluation, but was eventually released the same day.
Being placed on IR, Olave will be out for at least four games. But Olave is reportedly seeking specialist advice on his concussion, meaning he could be out for longer.
Cowboys’ Lamb aims to play despite shoulder injury
CeeDee Lamb has a shoulder injury following the Dallas Cowboys’ loss to the Atlanta Falcons last week. He finished the game and was limited in training, but has made enough progress to feel confident he will be on the field against the Eagles.
“I feel like I’ve made a big step forward during the week these last two or three days.” said the lamb. “But I’m fine, today I was running and I was fine.”
Lamb, who has no plans to wear any type of brace, will have a new quarterback thrown at him this week. With Dak Prescott out with a hamstring injury, Cooper Rush will take over starting duties as the Cowboys look to snap a four-game losing streak.
“We connected, we did a lot of reps outside of practice, just talking, communicating, being on the same page,” Lamb said. “I think it’s very important given the situation that is emerging and I’m happy for him, we know what Coop can do, the trust is still there.”
Levis returns for the Titans against the Chargers
The Tennessee Titans will have quarterback Will Levis back under center after he has been out since Oct. 13 with a right shoulder injury.
“I’m very competitive and I want to be there every week.” Levis said this week. “It sucks when you’re out there and you can’t play. So hopefully I can go this week. I battled and was excited to go out there and lead our team.”
Levis was dealing with a second-degree AC sprain in his right shoulder and was week to week. Mason Rudolph has started Tennessee’s last three games with the Titans going 1-2 over that stretch.
Nico Collins activated the IR
The Houston Texans did it activated Wide receiver Nico Collins came off injured reserve on Saturday, opening up the possibility for CJ Stroud to regain one of his top targets this week.
Collins, who has been out since suffering a hamstring injury in Week 5, is still questionable for Week 10’s Sunday Night Football matchup against the Detroit Lions. But having the 25-year-old receiver available will be important for Houston: Collins caught 32 passes for 567 in those first five games, with three touchdowns so far this season. He leads the league in yards per game, averaging 113.4 yards per game.
Here’s everything you need to know about Week 10 injuries. (Players will be added as teams release their reports.)
