Super Bowl XLII winner, NFL Hall of Famer and FOX analyst Michael Strahan will be behind the wheel of the 1,064-horsepower Corvette ZR1 as Pace Car driver in the 109th edition of the legendary 500 Miles from Indianapolis. The announcement was made Sunday morning during the NFL pregame show on FOX.
“Michael’s presence is a prestigious addition to the list of athletes and celebrities who have held this iconic role at the Indy 500,” said J. Douglas Boles, president of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway (IMS). “Whether on the football field or in the studio, Michael is used to leading with panache. With IndyCar and the Indy 500 entering a new era on FOX, he will have a vantage point for the start of the biggest race in the world. »
This edition of the 500 Miles also marks the start of a strategic partnership between FOX and IndyCar, with the channel which will broadcast the entire NTT IndyCar Series season thanks to a new multi-year agreement.
