Nick Bosa is the highest-paid defensive back in NFL history.
The San Francisco 49ers defensive end became the highest-paid defenseman in history after signing a contract extension worth $170 million.
San Francisco 49ers defensive end Nick Bosa signed a five-year, $170 million contract extension this Wednesday, making him the highest-paid defensive end in NFL history.
Bosa will earn $34 million per year, a record amount that surpasses the $31.7 million earned by Aaron Donald of the Los Angeles Rams, who was the highest-earning defensive player in the NFL.
The 49ers player missed training camp and preseason while negotiating this deal. During these months he trained independently.
Over the last two seasons, Bosa had the most quarterback sacks in the NFL with 34, along with 40 tackles for loss of yardage and forced six fumbles.

The former Ohio State Buckeyes college football star was drafted by the 49ers with the No. 2 overall pick in the NFL in the first round of the 2019 draft. He was named a defensive rookie the year of his debut.
In four years with San Francisco, he was selected to the Pro Bowl three times and was named the best defensive player for the 2022 season.
Nick Bosa is the leader of the 49ers defense, one of the best in the NFL, whose effectiveness has been questioned ahead of their 2023 season debut next Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers amid uncertainty over player participation.
Last Tuesday, Gambusinos coach Kyle Shanahan trusted the board to sort out his star’s situation for his debut this season.
“You know what we think of Nick and we all know what a good player he is. “That’s why I trust that we can reach an agreement soon to achieve it as quickly as possible,” said Shanahan, who can count on Bosa this Sunday.
