At the end of the year, the youngest judoka from the 1st JJJC Lünen were invited to a tournament with friendly judoka from JC Samurai Schwelm Ennepetal. Seven children from Lünen followed this invitation.
In the U11, Laura Schulz played her first non-club tournament that day. After losing her first two fights against stronger children, she was successful in the last fight with a throwing technique and secured third place.
Nikita Lehmann prevailed in all three of his fights and knocked out every opponent early, so he earned the place at the top of the podium. Greta Krause was narrowly inferior to her first opponent, but was able to score with a throw in her second encounter and won the bronze medal.
The U13 and U15 age groups were merged due to the low number of participants. Jana Eckey, who was upgraded from the U11 age group in order to have suitable opponents, had very difficult fights ahead of her. Although she did everything and showed great approaches, she unfortunately couldn’t win a fight and took third place.
Lina Rüping, Nele Wöste and Nikola Bertele found themselves in the same group. The more experienced Nikola was able to win against her two club mates and only lost out against one opponent from Wetter. Lina was able to win one fight in the much higher weight class and Nele unfortunately lost her three fights, despite the strong resistance.
All in all it was a nice tournament to end the year and a good opportunity for the children to fight again.
