The final men’s tennis tournament, the Nitto ATP Finals (Turin, Italy, indoor hard), will be held on the 12th, the third day of the tournament. The second match of the singles Jiri Nastase group was held, with 1st seed J. Sinner (Italy) defeating 5th seed T. Fritz (USA) in straight sets 6-4, 6-4 to advance to group stage 2. He achieved consecutive wins.

This tournament is the last tournament of the season in which only the top eight players with points earned this season can participate. Players will be divided into two groups of four and compete in a round-robin format, with the top two from each group advancing to the semi-finals.

World No. 1 Shinner defeated seventh seed A. de Minaur (Australia) in straight sets in the first match held on the 10th, the first day of the tournament. Fritz, on the other hand, won the first match by defeating fourth seed D. Medvedev.

Sinner and Fritz are friends who competed in this year’s US Open (USA/New York, Hard, Grand Slam) final. At that time, Sinner won and achieved his first victory in the tournament.

In the second match, Sinner made six aces and won points with a 77 percent chance of getting a first serve. He kept Fritz’s breaks to zero, and even though he was able to make seven service aces in the return game, he managed to break once in each set. He won easily in 1 hour and 40 minutes.

Sinner’s comments are posted on the official ATP website, the men’s professional tennis association.

“It was a very tough match. We played in a Grand Slam final, so we got to know each other very well. He was very aggressive, but I was also ready.”

Although Sinner achieved two consecutive wins in their group, they were unable to advance to the final tournament. He was left to face Medvedev in the third match. Medvedev defeated de Minaur in the second match, making it 1 win and 1 loss.

On the other hand, Fritz, who lost, will face De Minaur, who suffered two consecutive losses in the group, with a record of 1 win and 1 loss. Medvedev and Fritz still have a chance to advance to the final four if they win in the third match.
