Nothing again! Pöltl and Co. are also subject to Lakers

The Toronto Raptors have finally had a false start in the NBA.

Jakob Pöltl and colleagues suffered their fifth defeat on Friday with 125:131 against the Los Angeles Lakers in the sixth game of the season.

The center from Vienna scored double figures for the third time in a row with 19 points and twelve rebounds. There are also six assists and three blocks in 35:06 minutes on the floor.

Despite the recent bankruptcy, the local NBA pioneer is “proud of our decimated team” (the Raptors currently have to play for the injured All Star Scottie Barnes, note).

“Caught cold” Raptors

The Lakers “caught Toronto off guard” and quickly pulled ahead by 26 points. “After that, supported by our fans at both ends, we played really well and made it even more exciting,” said the 29-year-old.

After a complete false start, the Canadians are behind 19:45 at the start of the second quarter. They started to catch up after the break, but couldn’t get closer than six points.

RJ Barrett scores 33 points for Toronto, Gradey Dick scores 31. The Lakers are led by Anthony Davis (38 points, eleven rebounds) and LeBron James (27 points, ten assists).

Sacramento with a sense of success to Toronto

The Raptors will host the Sacramento Kings on Saturday. The franchise from the Californian capital traveled to Lake Ontario with a 123:115 win over the Atlanta Hawks. The top scorers are De’Aaron Fox (31) and former Toronto player DeMar DeRozan (27).

The Cleveland Cavaliers also won their sixth game of the season with 120:109 against the Orlando Magic. Darius Garland scores 25 points.

With a 137:114 win over the Portland Trail Blazers, the Oklahoma City Thunder increased their record to 5:0. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 30 points.

In a duel between two potential title contenders, the Minnesota Timberwolves beat the Denver Nuggets 119:116. Anthony Edwards (29) and Aaron Gordon (31) are the best throwers.
