Oklahoma strengthens with Branden Carlson

The Thunder had to do something after Chet Holmgren’s injury and they have already done it. As announced through an official statement through its social networks, OKC acquires the services of Branden Carlson, who until now played in the G League with the team affiliated with the Toronto Raptors.

Regarding the agreement reached between the parties for his entry to Oklahoma City, the Western Conference team would have signed him to a standard one-year contract; reports Michael Scotto of HoopsHype.

Without a spot on the Raptors roster after training camp, Carlson was assigned to the Raptors 905 of the G League, where he averaged 14.3 points, 8.7 rebounds, 3 assists and 1.7 blocks per game while shooting at 51.5% from the field.

To make this signing, the Thunder cut Malevy Leons shortly before. With this move, the team strengthens its interior game by giving Carlson the 15th spot on the roster. The plan is to have more long players available to Mark Daigneault to compensate for the absences of the injured Chet Holmgren and Isaiah Hartenstein.
