At the top, once again. On Friday afternoon, in Chile, Río Negro came out on top in the 31st Araucania Binational Games, achieving its 15th title. Another great achievement for the province and for its athletes who close 2024 brilliantly after the podium at the Evita National Games.
It was a last day of “calculator”, making calculations after the closure of the different disciplines. The province added the title in women’s judo, the runner-up in women’s basketball and men’s volleyball and very good points in the rest of the sports to reach 177 points and add a new celebration, the fourth in a row, surpassing Chubut (171) and La Pampa (168).
The men’s swimming won the title, and on Friday the women’s judo was consecrated in a great closing with the team events. The men’s team took sixth place.
In women’s basketball, the girls fell in the final 73-47 against Magallanes, winning the silver medal.
In the men’s category, the boys came in 5th place, contributing 10 points.
In volleyball, the women’s team finished in fourth position and the boys lost in the final against La Pampa 3-0, finishing second.
In soccer, the girls came fourth after losing on penalties to La Pampa and in the men’s team, the team placed 10th.
In the medal table, Río Negro obtained 37 medals with 8 gold, 9 silver and 20 bronze, totaling 37 medals.
