We would like to say thank you to Thomas for his many years of worthwhile commitment to sport. Thomas is one of the 60,000 volunteers who are involved in sport in Thuringia. When asked by the then club chairman Klaus Karpinsky in 2007 whether he would like to take over the management of the judo department, he agreed. He had previously been involved as a parent representative because his daughter Natalia had enjoyed this martial art and had since become extremely successful in it. Carrying responsibility, leading people and securing everything organizationally is his motivation, he confesses his unbroken enthusiasm for judo. The department currently has around 100 members and is considered one of the flagships of SV 1883. Thomas also continues to represent the Schwarzaer Farben in Thuringia on a voluntary basis. He is a member of the sports advisory board of the city of Rudolstadt and a board member of the “Judo-Team Thüringen” support association. V. and chairman of the legal committee in the Thuringian Judo Association (TJV). “It’s just a joy when successes occur and everyone pulls together,” says the official, summing up the progress. In the next few years he has set himself big goals, such as building a semi-professional team of photographers in the department and working on the “Building his own dojo” project. On behalf of all members of the department, we would like to thank him for his commitment.
