Pallacanestro Senigallia defeated with a heavy 67-118 by leaders Matelica

A tenth day of the championship to forget to now start again with new momentum for Pallacanestro Goldengas Senigallia, decimated and overwhelmed by a very powerful and almost perfect Vigor Matelica, which remains at the top of the rankings with 14 points.

On Wednesday evening at the Palas the red and whites took to the field except for 3 important injured players: Giovanni Sablich, his brother Pietro and Tommaso Druda, while on the other bench Musci and Mazzotti were still injured and this time also the newly signed big man Eliantonio. The first quarter started with great energy, the two teams chased each other for points, with good plays from Marco Venga and Diego Arceci, while Matelica enjoyed the first triples which then knocked out the Senigallian team. The first ends at 26-36 for Vigor Matelica. The second quarter starts slow again, coach Petitto calls a suspension at 30-43 but faced with the relentless triples and a tight game from Matelica there is little that can be done: we go to halftime at 44-67.

The third quarter resumes a little subdued despite some nice schemes from Goldengas, a good Arceci very present on the pitch and a Marco Venga with his usual always positive energy, but on the other hand Matelica seems invincible. Riccio, Zanzottera, Morgillo, Djeng, Panzini, Arnaldo, Mentonelli…: a slew of really good, fast and very precise players. The match begins to take shape and ends at 53-96. The last half will see all the young people training with the first team take to the field, a great emotion for them and for the public: apart from Cristiano Perna, already used in rotation by coach Petitto throughout the match, they took Leonardo Ferraro, Francesco Valenti and Nicolò Gentili also take part in the challenge. The siren sounds on a heavy 67-118. We certainly return home sad but now it’s time to put our ideas in order, rediscover the impetus we’ve seen so far and think about the next, very close match on Saturday against Roseto, the last match of the first leg, which will be played in Abruzzo.
