Judoka and Paralympic medalist Marta Arce will teach a judo master class on Friday, November 15, at the Francisco Samaniego ‘Fay’ municipal pavilion in Santa Marta de Tormes. An event framed in the ‘Santa Marta, Everyone Incluid@s’ project, which seeks to promote inclusion and accessible sport for all.
Marta Arce from Valladolid suffers from albinism and a progressive visual disability but has become an example of perseverance and sportsmanship. Graduated in Physiotherapy from the ONCE School of Physiotherapy, she began her career in Madrid, where in 2001 she made her debut in international adapted judo competitions. Since then, Arce has represented Spain in four editions of the Paralympic Games, achieving a silver medal in Athens (2004) and Beijing (2008), as well as bronze medals in London (2012) and Paris (2024), in the category of less than 63 kg.
She currently combines her career as a Paralympic coach and speaker, collaborating with various organizations to convey her experiences and the challenges overcome in her sporting life. In the activity that will be offered this Friday, attendees will be able to learn first-hand about their technique, in addition to receiving lessons on the values of improvement, inclusion and teamwork.
The event, which is part of the ‘Santa Marta, Everyone Included’ project, is open to people of all ages and levels of experience, with an opportunity to be inspired and learn from one of the most prominent athletes on the scene. paralympic.
