This Friday, November 15, the renowned judoka and Paralympic medalist Marta Arce Payno will give a master class judo in the Francisco Samaniego “Fay” municipal pavilion in Santa Marta de Tormes. This event is part of the “Santa Marta, Everyone Incluid@s” project, which seeks to promote inclusion and accessible sport for all.
Born in Valladolid, Marta Arce, who suffers from albinism and progressive visual impairment, is an example of perseverance and sportsmanship. Graduated in Physiotherapy from the ONCE School of Physiotherapy, she began her career in Madrid, where in 2001 she made her debut in international adapted judo competitions. Since then, Arce has represented Spain in four editions of the Paralympic Games, achieving a silver medal in Athens (2004) and Beijing (2008), as well as bronze medals in London (2012) and Paris (2024), in the category of less than 63 kg.
Currently, Marta Arce combines her career as trainer Paralympian and lecturer, collaborating with various organizations to transmit her experiences and the challenges overcome in her sporting life. In the master class that will be offered this Friday, attendees will be able to learn first-hand about their technique, in addition to receiving lessons on the values of improvement, inclusion and teamwork.

The master classorganized within the framework of “Santa Marta, Everyone Included”, is open to people of all ages and levels of experience, who will have the opportunity to be inspired and learn from one of the most outstanding athletes on the Paralympic scene. .

About from “Santa Marta, Everyone Included”
“Santa Marta, Everyone Incluid@s” is a pioneering project promoted by the Santa Marta de Tormes City Council to promote the inclusion of people with disabilities through sport. Over the next few months, the project will offer training activities, awareness workshops and adapted competitions in seven sports disciplines.
This multidisciplinary project covers seven sports modalities and includes the holding of fourteen competitions, of which four are official. Featured sports include basketball, soccer, judo, chess, slalom, boccia and cross country. The events will be developed progressively, adapting to the competitive calendars.
Financed with a grant of 250,000 euros granted by the Ministry of Social Affairs within the framework of the 2030 Agenda, Santa Marta de Tormes has been selected among only seven municipalities in all of Spain to carry out this initiative, unique in Castilla y León.
This event is part of the “Santa Marta, Everyone Included” project, and reinforces the commitment of the Santa Marta City Council to social and sports integration. The initiative will run until May 2025.
