Participants of the South American Basketball Championship arrived in Lara

Delegations from Brazil, Bolivia, Argentina, Colombia, Uruguay, Chile and Ecuador, were received at the General Division “Jacinto Lara” International Airport in Barquisimeto, for what will be the development of the U15 South American Basketball Championship, which will take place from November 6 to 10.

The basketball teams will compete for the highest trophy in the Bolivarian Dome, in the city of Barquisimetana, with free entry and total security for the population to attend the sporting events, this as part of the commitment of the national government that, in coordination with the mayor of Iribarren and the Venezuelan Basketball Federation, work to give the best sporting event to the public and project this generation to growth in their discipline.

In this sense, basketball player Fernanda Salazar, from Bolivia, described the welcome as very fun, “they welcomed us with songs to the rhythm of Venezuelan music and even made us dance, it was very exciting and with Venezuelan joy.” For her part, Luciana Franca, from Uruguay, said: “from the moment I got off the plane I felt that human warmth, Venezuelans are very friendly, they always want to make you feel comfortable.”

Meanwhile, Josefina Jiménez, from Chile, said: “Come to the championship as a family, we are waiting for you.” From now on, Lara becomes a sports epicenter by hosting seven foreign countries to hold the U15 South American Basketball Championship at the Bolivarian Dome, a sports facility that has excellent conditions.
