A soccer match between two clubs in an amateur league Rosario became a pitched battle and ended with one of the players fainting and hospitalized, and several injured. The members of the team who reported the attacks also claimed that a motorcycle and cell phones were stolen from them. The entire sequence was recorded by witnesses at the scene.
The unfortunate episode occurred last Friday, when the club Lavalle de Rosario and the club San Fernando from the town of Grenadier Baigorria (which is also part of the department of Rosario) had to face each other on the field of the Rosario suburbs.
However, the league match could not take place normally, since, in the course of the competition, shouting, running, hitting and brutal attacks began. Everything overflowed in a matter of minutes.
“I asked them not to kill me and they told me ‘we are going to kill you’”narrated one of the attacked people from Lavalle in dialogue with Telenight Rosario. This is the person who received multiple blows in different parts of the body and fainted when leaving the court, after suffering a blow to the head. In this sense, he added: “They told me that I have to have my head checked because I had a bump from the blow that made me faint.”
After the events that were reported, the president of Lavalle, Leonardo Nicolás Ramírez, recalled his version of how the conflicts began that Friday.
“In the first half, two players are thrown out, one from Lavalle and another from San Fernando. In the second half, after five minutes, two other boys are thrown out, one from each team. At that moment, the two of them start hitting each other and all my players and all their players get involved,” he began to tell the same media.
And he continued: “But at a moment when we were trying to separate, they opened the door. There were more than 100 people, there were 30 of us, and they all came at us. At that time, we managed to get some of the boys out and others They stayed inside crying, shouting ‘please don’t kill us.’ They tore the fabric. They took our motorcycle, our two cell phones, and our money. We ran everywhere. The neighbors took us inside. “We were asking like crazy.”
“We shouldn’t have played with San Fernando at home, but they didn’t want to come and play here,” the man complained. However, as he stressed, the league would have refused to reschedule the match somewhere other than the Granadero Baigorria field, where the attacks occurred.
In addition, a 14-year-old teenager, who is also part of the club, stated that his motorcycle was stolen during the disturbances that occurred on the playing field. “I’m fine, recovering. To me, the material doesn’t matter to me, but honestly it was my mobility to go to work every day. But I’m thankful they didn’t kill any of the club kids. Thank God, we got it cheap because those people were very disrespectful,” he said.
A double attack marked the regional league soccer day in Santa Fe. The episode occurred during the duel between Los Andes and Blanco y Negro, when a soccer player elbowed a rival and, once he was lying on the ground, , kicked him in the head that could have generated significant consequences for the player.
It was exactly within the framework of date 17 of the Southern Sports League. The forward Franco Cardinale (Los Andes) starred in a moment of extreme tension in the Interzonal classic that was played on June 30. The match, which ended with the locals winning 2-1, was marred by the behavior shown by the attacker during a play that occurred 32 minutes into the second half.
