It is not satisfied with the good results obtained in the 2024 competitive season just ended by its youth teams (culminating with the title of Regional Champion of the Under18 category) and also by the first Senior team (which deserved the third consecutive salvation in the top Italian category with a very young and very Povigliese), Poviglio Baseball ASD has decided to strengthen its already excellent technical staff with a new element of great quality and experience.
This is Professor Sergio Jesus Rojas Redonet, aged 45, from Cuba and precisely from Pinar del Rio who has a very important curriculum and is also known and personally respected by the President Andrea Giovanardi, the coach Jesus Escudero and the pitcher Frank Medina.
He is a technician specialized above all in working with the youth sector but obviously he will also collaborate extensively with the first team staff. He is competent in both the fundamentals of batting and pitching. His CV is impressive, as are his results in his homeland.
Going a bit against the trend with the behavior of its rivals, who normally renounce the services of foreign coaches (or most of them), during the winter period as it is devoid of competitions, Poviglio Baseball has decided to immediately bring the his new coach. In fact, having arrived in Italy last Saturday, he will already participate in the training of the Under15 team today.
In this way, Sergio will initially be able to get to know, then plan and above all work on the technical fundamentals of all the athletes for the approximately 4 months that separate them from the first races of next season.
Naturally, the new coach will collaborate in strong synergy and sharing programs and working methods with all the other talented Platform-Tmc technicians such as Jesus Escudero, Domenico Severi, Fabrizio Cerini, Antonino Arcolà , Gian Carlo Caprara, Roberto Samini, Andrea Giovanardi , Jesus Escudero, Fabrizio Cerini, Luca Salardi, Francesco Marchi, Nicolò Campanini and Michele Berni.
