NFL 2024: Buffalo’s statement game against Kansas City
The matchup of the week between Bills and Chiefs did not disappoint; Buffalo beats Kansas City handing Patrick Mahomes his first defeat of the season and shattering the dreams of glory of a perfect season. A Josh Allen in MVP format confirms the Bills as among the contenders for the first seed in the AFC. In New York, on the Jets side, changes continue in the front office; GM Joe Douglas was officially fired after yet another defeat for the green and whites.
Pittsburgh’s victory against Baltimore was also fundamental, which has value for both the division and the conference. Lamar Jackson’s Ravens are in slight decline, to understand whether the crisis will be managed or not. The Los Angeles Chargers beat Cincinnati in full sprint and consolidate their position in the playoffs, together with their rivals the Denver Broncos, who won against Atlanta.
Detroit continues to dominate, humiliating the Jaguars 52-6, now at the end of the line, but Minnesota and Green Bay also winmaking the NFC North an incredibly competitive division. Philadelphia beats Washington early and takes the lead in the NFC East for the moment. Open battle in the NFC South, Atlanta loses but the others also lose except New Orleans, which is slowly climbing back up.
The 12th day opens with Cleveland facing Pittsburgh, on Netbet* the odds for the Steelers are 1.55, surprisingly high given the gap between the two teams. The bet is mandatory in favor of Pittsburgh. Also worth taking is the handicap -5.5 quoted at 1.62 for the Lions, who face the Colts, and the intriguing Cardinals victoryquoted at 1.96, against Seattle which does not seem to convince most.
NHL 2024-25: Bruins change coach after uncertain start
The first change on the bench of the hockey season concerns a team you don’t expect; the Boston Bruins. Jim Montgomery, after an 8-9-3 start, he was officially relieved of duty; in his place will be assistant coach Joe Sacco. A decision that came after about twenty complicated games that saw the Bruins in the middle of the standings, a goal judged too low given the expectations of the yellow and blacks.
A positive period, however, for Carolina and Washington, who, fresh from stints of consecutive victories, are at the top of the division and promise to battle the New Jersey Devils throughout the year. Alex Ovechkin, who is chasing history to become the best scorer of all time, scored another 5 goals, reaching 15 (868 in total): 27 more and he will surpass Wayne Gretzky.
In the West, Winnipeg continues to fly but Minnesota is not far behind either, trailing the Jets with just 5 points behind in the standings. The bad moment continues for Nashville, which currently occupies the last positions and Andrew Brunette’s bench starts to warm up; he could be the next fired coach in the league.
