The official presentation of the 2024/25 edition of the High School Cantù was held at the Pallacanestro Cantù headquarters. The basketball tournament between high schools in the province of Como, organized by Pallacanestro Cantù, will see 10 institutes at the start this year for a constantly growing competition.
The first to speak was the president of Pallacanestro Cantù, Roberto Allievi, who reiterated the importance of the event for the entire Club, in order to be close to the territory and its young people. A concept also reiterated by GM Alessandro Santoro and Andrea Degano of AD Tubi, sponsor of the tournament, who wanted to express his company’s closeness to Canturnament and the world of sport and young people.
Following this, Jonathan Molteni, representative of the Territorial School Office of Como, and Franco Borghi, representing the FIP of Como, introduced some of the innovations of the edition, which will be held entirely at the PalaPrealpi in Seveso and will then see a collaboration with the homologous event in the province of Varese. At the end of the two tournaments, the schools that triumph in the two provincial editions will face each other in a grand final.
The conclusion fell to the young people of the 10 schools that will participate in the 2024/25 edition: Istituto Sant’Elia, Liceo Enrico Fermi, Liceo Fausto Melotti, IIS Jean Monnet, Istituto Gaetano Pessina, Centro Studi Casnati, Liceo Galileo Galilei, ITIS Magistri Cumacini, Liceo Alessandro Volta and ISIS Carcano. The boys took turns to present the challenges that will see them as protagonists starting from November 18th, the day on which the first of the three qualifying groups will be played.
