Feyenoord is in third place when it comes to the highest ticket price in Europe. Yet Feyenoord will play in a sold-out Kuip tonight. RB Salzburg is the opponent in an important match for the Champions League. RTL Nieuws wrote about the expensive ticket prices on their website, referring to a piece from the Spanish Revelo.
A passe-partout, which can be purchased by season ticket holders and club members, could cost up to 427 euros. As a supporter you can visit all four home games. The Spanish Revelo has investigated this. The ‘left over’ cards go on sale individually and are also pricey. Tickets around the middle step are 95 euros and near the corner flag you pay around 81 euros.
Top three
This puts Feyenoord in a top three, which you might not want to be in. The official independent supporters’ association De Feijenoorder therefore receives many telephone calls about the excessively high prices. Spokesperson Carli Klijn says the following about it: ‘An evening of football with the whole family costs a month’s salary with a passe-partout.’
Klijn explains: ‘Our supporters’ council regularly talks to the Feyenoord board about policy themes. We also raise ticket prices. For example, ask them how those prices are structured. Why you cannot pay for a season ticket in installments. This staggered payment may still be available, but not until next year. That’s mustard after dinner for fans who can’t afford it right now.’
Still sold out
For some people it is no longer affordable to go to Feyenoord. Only Celtic FC and Aston Villa are more expensive than the Rotterdam superpower. But as long as De Kuip sells out so easily, prices will not drop.
UPDATE 06-11-2024 16:08
Feyenoord responded to RTL about the results. They state that the playing level of the opponent was not taken into account. For example, Feyenoord received a visit from a German national champion with Bayer 04 Leverkusen, which is one of the designated A-category opponents.
