MIAMI – Max Edwards is a popular high school football coach who was recently assigned to the athletic department at Miami Jackson Senior High School.
But just this week, the trusted staff member is being accused of viewing pornographic material while at work, in a classroom, on a school computer.
In a statement to Local 10 News, the school district said:
“Miami-Dade County Public Schools is concerned about allegations made regarding troubling behavior involving an employee at Miami’s Jackson Senior High School. “The individual has been removed from the school campus pending the outcome of an investigation.”
Edwards previously made his mark on the football sidelines at both Miami Central High and Miami Northwestern Senior High School.
The latter is where he spent roughly 10 years, leading the Northwestern Bulls as the team won three state championships, a success that Edwards and others hoped would carry over to his new role at Miami Jackson.
His career and reputation are likely to suffer, if the allegations are proven true.
