Things aren’t going too badly for 1. FC Saarbrücken in the 3rd league at the moment. The two wins against the VFB Stuttgart II and Hansa Rostock followed Last matchday there was a 1-1 draw with second division relegated VFL Osnabrück. As a result, coach Rüdiger Ziehl’s team has improved to fifth place in the table and is only two points away from league leaders Cottbus.

Rizzuto expects “disgusting game”

A difficult task awaits the FCS on Saturday with Erzgebirge Aue. Defender Calogero Rizzuto knows the upcoming opponent all too well. The native of Saarbrücken was on the ball for the purple-whites for almost six years and knows what to expect from the FCS on Saturday: “No one likes to go there. It’s going to be gross.”

Rüdiger Ziehl also warns about the quality of the opponent, but wants to concentrate above all on his own strengths: “We have to focus on taking away this playfulness from Aue and at the same time exude dominance ourselves. The team is ready to throw everything into the balance.”

The team from the Erzgebirge is currently in seventh place in the table. In the last five games, coach Pavel Dotchev’s team suffered a total of four defeats. However, they managed to win again for the first time on the last match day. The FCE won 1-0 at VFB Stuttgart II.

Wilhelm blocked – Becker returns

In the game against VFL Osnabrück, Saarbrücken central defender Lasse Wilhelm was sent off early with yellow and red and is therefore missing from the away game on Saturday due to a suspension. Dominik Becker returns after a long absence and, according to Rüdiger Ziehl, will also be in the starting line-up against Aue.

In addition to the long-term injuries Thoelke, Sonnenberg and Zeitz, Uaferro and Gourichy will not be an option on Saturday. The use of midfielder Sebastian Vasiliadis is also questionable. Tim Civeja or Elijah Krahn could take his place in the starting eleven. Calogero Rizzuto will be back after his suspension.

The FCS has only been a guest at the “Veilchen” four times in the club’s history and lost out in all games. For Rizzuto it is therefore clear: “There is always a spell that can be broken. I think now is a good time. It’s time for us to go home with three points.”

The game will be broadcast LIVE on SR 3 Saarlandwelle. You can see a summary of the game today from 5:30 p.m. in the SR sportarena. There will also be a match report on the game on SR.de after the game.
