The Nets host the Celtics at the Barclays Center for the NBA regular season. With 5 wins in 11 games, the Nets have had an encouraging start to the season, and seem to be off to a good start. However, their main objective remains to develop a strong playing identity, laying solid foundations, then focus their strategy on the progression of their young talents to build a competitive team in the long term. With a very limited roster, Jordi Fernandez’s team will have to review their priorities, especially since many predict Brooklyn at the bottom of the Eastern Conference standings. As a reminder, the previous season, the Nets actually finished with a disappointing record of 32 wins for 50 losses.
Boston is off to an excellent start to the season, led by a healthy Jayson Tatum, who is averaging an impressive 29.7 points per game. With 9 victories for only 3 defeats, the Celtics confirm the expectations placed on them and are already among the best teams in the Eastern Conference. Tatum’s performances clearly reflect the ambition of Joe Mazzulla’s players, who assume their status as favorites and show their determination to strike hard this season to defend their title of NBA champions.
