The Men’s National Wheelchair Basketball Team remains undefeated in the tournament Centrobasket 2024 with victories over the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua.
The Puerto Ricans crushed the Dominican squad by a score of 74-43 on Monday, while this Tuesday they did the same against the Nicaraguans by a score of 77-50.
The quintet has two games remaining in the regular phase against Mexico on Wednesday and against Guatemala on Thursday.
The competition – which takes place in Cuernavaca, Mexico – brings together five countries and grants two spaces for the Americas Cup 2025 of the International Wheelchair Basketball Federation (IWBF).
The national team has just won silver in the previous edition of the Centrobasket, held in 2018.
The team is made up of Héctor Maldonado, Danny Colón, Carlos Martínez, Mitchell Braithwaite, Giovanni Pérez, Ramón Uribe, Efrain Ortiz, Javier Soto, Carlos Ocasio, Orlando Fabery, Alexander Román and Rico Román. They will be directed by Armando Belaval.
