the essential
The Puygouzon judo club associated with the Tarn judo committee presented a distinction to Philippe Cassagnaud.
The JCP (Judo club Puygouzon) is riding the wave of the Paris Olympic Games, where judo was the sport which won the most medals. “Little by little, the non-competitive adult course on Monday evening is expanding and there are more and more of us on the mats. Old timers are coming back, new ones are starting judo” rejoices Professor Emmanuelle Sourd. Since the creation of the club by Pascal Jeanson in 1986, the club has structured itself by applying the moral values of judo, educating the 130 black belts counted to date. Respect, work, seriousness and conviviality are the mottos of the JCP, in sharing and good humor. To reward and recognize the interest that certain members have in the operation of the dojo, alongside Pascal Jeanson and Emmanuelle Sourd, the president of the Tarn de judo committee Yannick Maffre, as well as Bernard Alibert, member of the committee, presented a distinction to Philippe Cassagnaud for his investment in the club and in judo.
Not waza, not taïso, not jujitsu or dojo
Philippe Cassagnaud, volunteer, is involved with children in the activity of jujitsu and adapted para judo. The JCP wanted to honor the work that Philippe does as a club licensee and member of the steering committee. Volunteering is becoming rarer; it is good to highlight the good will who, out of passion, out of solidarity, give their time, committing themselves without expecting anything in return.
At the club, there is more than just competition. A new activity has been added to the schedule, it is “ne waza”. This is the “ground” part of judo, without falling, the work of reversals, immobilizations, arm locks and strangulations. Classes take place every Wednesday evening from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.; jujitsu every Thursday evening from 8 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., Taïso for seniors, every Tuesday morning (10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.). The JCP is open to everyone, from 4 years old, at all levels, with the possibility of joining the club during the season. Trial sessions are free.
