One silver and two bronzes for Quindío in boxing at the National Youth Games
Last Thursday, November 21, the women’s boxing discipline experienced a historic milestone thanks to the great performance of Danna Damary Pérez, who won the silver medal in the 50 kilogram category.
The boxer was in second place on the podium after facing Yerlin Isaura Quiñonez, from Valle del Cauca, who with a defensive tactic prevailed against the Quindiana’s attacks.
Danna Pérez’s achievement did not come alone, as the male representatives added two bronzes to the medal table. The metals were obtained in the categories 67 and 86 kilograms respectively.
William Paul Quintero faced the representative of the Atlantic, while the boxer Andrés Felipe Rodríguez was surpassed by the delegate from Bogotá.
These fights took place at the Expofuturo Convention Center in Pereira, one of the headquarters of the sports fairs.
It should be noted that only two years ago the Boxing League was created in the department, so these notable results reflect the commitment and passion of the athletes. This team marked a path of success and inspiration for new generations.

The Quindian delegation until this Sunday, November 24, added 11 medals, distributed in 2 gold, 2 silver and 7 bronze. It is momentarily located in box 17 of the general table.
The golden joys for Quindío came in skateboarding with Yerli Jaidivi Cardona and athletics with Camilo Andrés Redondo who dominated the 200 meter dash of the jousts.
In addition to boxing, the high jump event also provided a silver medal through Valeria Sofía George López.
Meanwhile, the bronzes came from Kevin Agudelo in the 400 meter dash in athletics and 3 more in bowling with Miguel Ángel Londoño in singles and doubles together with the other Quindian Gustavo Daniel Iznaga Sánchez.
The women also excelled in bolo with a bronze achieved by the duo of Sofía Victoria Barrera and Sophia Fajardo Osorio. Another significant podium was achieved by the women’s handball team, which won bronze after beating Bogotá in the match for third place.
The general medal table is led by Antioquia with 257 medals (96 gold, 87 silver and 74 bronze). For its part, the second is Bogotá with 217 metals (77 gold, 57 silver and 83 bronze). The podium is closed by Valle del Cauca with 74 gold, 85 silver and 69 bronze for a total of 228 medals.
