Quindiano Brayan Contreras was one victory short of winning bronze in judo –

The judo discipline is developed at Expofuturo in Pereira.

Brayan Stiven Contreras Sánchez was one of the first Quindians to perform in judo at the I Eje Cafetero 2024 National Youth and Parayouth Games.

The coffee grower participated in the men’s up to 66 kilogram category and came very close to getting the bronze medal.

However, in the ultimate fight for metal, Contreras Sánchez fell to Santiago Villada López from Valle del Cauca, by a score of 0-10.

And the representative of the Pacific showed his hierarchy, at his young age and career in the discipline, he has had international participation and this was evident when fighting against Brayan Stiven.

Another athlete who also had action on the first day was Matía Buitrago López, who participated in the 60 kilogram category, but in the round of 16 he fell to Franklin Sney Rodríguez, from Cesar, result 0-10.

Quindío is one of the departments that began to grow in the discipline, the objective is to maintain a base to face the qualifying rounds for the National and Paranational Sports Games of Córdoba and Sucre in 2027.
