Racing seeks its fourth international title

Racing wants to be crowned champion in Paraguay and will face Cruzeiro from Brazil this Saturday in the final of the 2024 Copa Sudamericana.

The match will be at the La Nueva Olla stadium in Asunción from 5 p.m., with the refereeing of the Uruguayan Esteban Ostojich. The meeting will be broadcast by the sports signal ESPN.

Racing will seek to win its fourth international title in the seventh defining match it plays in the professional era.

Racing comes to this match after defeating Corinthians of Brazil 2-1 in the semifinals of the tournament with two goals from Colombian Juan Fernando Quintero.

Gustavo Costas’ team will seek to be champions after 36 years without winning an international title. The last Olympic round was on September 17, 1988 for the South American Super Cup, where the current coach of the “Academy”, Gustavo Costas, was part of the starting team and the rival was Cruzeiro.

In relation to the team that faced Corinthians, the coach would not make any variations and would use the same eleven that played in the Copa Sudamericana semifinal.

For its part, Cruzeiro just eliminated Lanús 1-0, with a goal from striker Kaio Jorge, in the semifinals of the competition.

Coach Fernando Diniz Silva has only one uncertainty in relation to the starting eleven, where midfielders Walace and Lucas Silva are fighting to keep a place in the team.
