Recommending the members of the Football Association’s Board of Directors, headed by Al-Yousef

The Kuwait Football Association held an “extraordinary” general assembly to choose members of its board of directors – in by-elections scheduled for today, Wednesday – who were all named “by acclamation.”

According to what the Football Association published through its account on the X platform, Sheikh Ahmed Al-Yousef Al-Sabah assumed the presidency of the Federation by acclamation. He is the only candidate for this position.

According to what was published, Osama Hussein and Mubarak Abdulaziz were recommended for the positions of Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors – the only two candidates also for the position – while Ahmed Ajab, Ayman Al-Husseini, Fahd Al-Hamlan and Hanan Al-Hardan also won membership in the Board by recommendation.

The recommendation of all members came without holding elections – the nomination period was closed on October 17 last year – due to the absence of competing candidates, as yesterday (Al-Ittihad) received letters from the Sulaibikhat, Al-Shabab and Al-Tadamon clubs stating that their candidates, Thamer Enad, Majed Awad and Salem Saadoun, had withdrawn from competing for membership in the Board of Directors. The recommended Board of Directors will complete the term of the current Board (2022 – 2026) in accordance with the text of Article (35) of the bylaws of the Kuwait Football Association.
