Pougues-les-Eaux. Renovation of the courts in 2025. The tennis general assembly was held on Wednesday, in a restricted committee, due to the absence of many members. Véronique Primard, the president, took stock of the past year. There were thirty-eight licensees (sixteen young people, twenty-two adults). The tennis school lessons took place on Saturday morning and were supervised by Samuel Peloille (employee of the Decize, La Machine, Imphy employers’ group).
A men’s team is reconstituting itself
This body was chaired by Bruno Alff and had Christian Chaubert as treasurer, both decided to leave their place this year, which raised questions about the continuity of the group and consequently about the future of Samuel Peloille. Fortunately, Jean-Marc Girard and Murielle Lafaye agreed to take over.
The club only entered one women’s team in the adult winter championship and it was forced to withdraw due to a lack of players during the last meeting. No teams were entered into the spring championship.
Two youth teams participated in the team championship: a boys’ team (8 years old) and a girls’ team (15-16 years old) which finished 3 e out of 4 in division 3. Samuel Peloille organized several one or two-day courses during the school holidays for around ten young people from the tennis school. And for the third year, he hosted a youth department tournament during spring break.
The rifles brought a small profit. The financial statement does not pose a problem. Contributions have increased to €90 for adults and €50 for young people.
This year, the club left with its tennis school and its five hours of weekly lessons. He lost around ten licensees, but a men’s team is in the process of being rebuilt, which should bring back a few adults. No team was entered in the winter championship. The club has requested quotes for the repair of the outdoor courts. The mayor gave his agreement for a complete renovation of court number 1. Recently, she confirmed that she was going to sign the estimate so that the work could be carried out in 2025. The club will request a subsidy of €3,000 from the FFT and will request the Region which could also subsidize this type of work.
The president but also Jean-Louis Egrot for omnisports and Jean-Michel Dupont warmly thanked Olivier Bertrand, who resigned, for his investment in the club for many years.
