The 2nd double ranking O19 of the 2024/25 season took place last weekend. The BC Phönix Hövelhof itself organized the NRW rankings in the triple hall by the swimming pool.
A total of eight players from BC Phönix Hövelhof competed there or on the association rankings that took place at the same time in Clarholz.
Two BC Phönix doubles started on the NRW ranking list. On the one hand, these were Niklas Kampmeier / Sven Falkenrich. The two upper league teams played a satisfactory tournament in the A field and, after two confident opening victories, were only narrowly defeated by the regional league team Schmidt / Stoppel (BC Hohenlimburg) in the semifinals with 21:17, 17:21, 16:21. In the game for third place, they prevailed in the local duel against Sven Leifeld / Frederick Loetzke (TuS Friedrichsdorf) with 21:19, 21:13. Marvin Barther / Michael Berkemeier competed in the B field and took 11th place with two wins and three defeats. The organizer BC Phönix Hövelhof looks back on a successful tournament organization.
On the association ranking list, the two men’s doubles Jan-Philipp Nickel / Patrick Bollen and Silas Fortmeier / Simeon Praschan each started in the A field. After an opening defeat, Nickel / Bollen were able to move into the top eight with two hard-fought three-set wins. Fortmeier / Praschan narrowly failed to avoid relegation to the B field with 14th place. The decisive game was lost 25:23, 21:23, 19:21.
