Riccione, Judo: 1,500 athletes arriving for the 39th Csen National Championship

All ready tomorrow, Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th Novemberal Playhall, for the 39th national event with competitions for the female and male Judo categories from all over Italy.

From very young to masters, all in the typical uniform “judogi” cinched at the waist by belts in different colors, up to the coveted black belt. They are the athletes who, together with technicians and competition judges, will arrive in Riccione over the weekend for the 39th Italian judo championship signed by Csen – National Educational Sports Centre.

LThe event, under the patronage of the Municipality of Riccione, will involve 1,500 people, including athletes and technicians. The judokas will compete for the top step of the podium from all regions of Italy to represent all categories of the martial art of judo: from very young to beginners and cadets, from juniors to seniors up to masters.

On the tatami of the Playhall in Riccione the competitions will take place on Saturday morning and afternoon for the men’s and women’s youth Grand Prix (children, teenagers and beginners categories) and on Sunday for all the other categories (cadets, under 23s, seniors and masters). Awards will follow for the participating companies and the Overall trophy 2024 will be awarded to the company that has scored the most points in the two days of competition in the competitive classes. Athletes ranked first and second in the cadet, under 23, senior and master brown belt classes will be able to earn the coveted first Dan Csen black belt.

Cinzia Cavazzuti, former Italian judoka finalist at the 2000 Sydney and 2004 Athens Olympics, gold medalist at the 2001 Mediterranean Games and 2002 European Championships, will be present at the event. Today she holds the role of vice president of the Lombardy regional committee of Fijlkam-Coni for the judo sector.
