The women’s judo team and the men’s swimming team were champions. Men’s volleyball and women’s basketball won the silver medal.
After an intense sports week in Chile, the Rio Negro delegation once again climbed to the top of the podium at the Araucanía Games and extended its winning streak to five consecutive titles.
This historical sporting milestone is added to the one achieved by Río Negro last week at the Evita National Games where for the first time it stood on the podium of the contest, taking third place.
To achieve this new title in the Araucanía there were multiple achievements in the province, which were achieved with great effort from the athletes, coaches and companions.
As for the results, in judo the women’s branch shouted champion and the men were sixth.
Rio Negro swimming was also champion thanks to the men’s team, while the women’s team was sixth.
In men’s volleyball, the team took the silver medal, while the women placed fourth. In basketball the girls were runners-up and the men fifth.
The cycling teams took fourth place in men and tenth in women.
In soccer, the ladies took fourth place and the men took tenth place. Finally, in athletics the women’s branch was seventh and the men’s was ninth.
In this way, Río Negro defended the title and established a new record as the first five-time champion in the history of the Araucanía Binational Games.
It should be noted that, in 2018, 2019, 2022, 2023 and now 2024, the Champions Cup was dyed with Rio Negro colors.
In addition, the province extended its record to 15 conquests, also a competition record.
