The improbable Angevin evening went well on Friday, allowing local fans to be amazed.

A France – Brazil veteran gala was organized, almost in relative anonymity, Friday evening in Angers. And yet, it was Ronaldinho who was at the origin of this charitable project (without further details) and who of course displayed his talent, still intact on the pitch of the Raymond-Kopa stadium, even if the overweight has become just as indisputable among the 2005 Ballon d’Or, now 44 years old and who has a series of outings of the kind like in Guadeloupe a few months ago. Saïd Chabane, the disputed owner of the local club (sentenced to two years in prison, one of which is closed, for aggravated sexual violence, he will be retried on appeal in April 2025), gave his evening host a SCO jersey under glass.

“I never thought I would see it in real life (…) It’s crazy”

When your name is Ronaldinho, you can compose your Seleçao of Sonny Anderson (scorer, obviously), Valdo, Cris, Edmilson, Fred, Claudio Caçapa, Alex, Paulo César or Maicon, just that. Opposite, the French team looked no less proud with Claude Makelele, Steve Savidan, Mamadou Niang, Frédéric Piquionne, Sébastien Piocelle, Karim Ziani, Michaël Ciani and Grégory Malicki (who became SCO goalkeeper coach). The Brazilians won 5-4 with a goal from “Ronnie” from the penalty spot.

Even if the show, too infested with influencers over time, gradually lost interest, the young local spectators did not waste their evening. Valentin’s eyes sparkle (for Ouest-France): “I never thought I’d see him in real life.” Timo is just as thrilled: “He’s crazy, he’s one of the best players in history.” Tatiane, a Brazilian based in Angers, also made the trip with her two daughters, with a lot of flags of their country. The speaker even ended up considering Ronaldinho as an “Angevin for life”.
