Once again, Sabrina Solís from Potosí won a medal, Now it was at the XV Suriname International 2024 Badminton, in which she starred in the final and fell to win silver in women’s singles.

The badminton player was the only Mexican present at the tournament that was held from November 13 to 17 in Paramaribo, Suriname, located in the northern part of South America, located on the coast of the Caribbean Sea.

Solís Martínez according to her ranking, was placed in the women’s singles chart as the second seed, so the first round of 16th finals advanced bye.

In the quarterfinals he faced Chequeda de Boulet, from Trinidad and Tobago, whom he defeated in straight sets 21-14 and 21-14. Thus she advanced to the semifinal and her opponent was the American Isabelle Rusli, with whom she had to work hard, since the Potosina won the first set 21-9, but in the second her rival tied her with a tight 18-21 and in the third and final match the balance was tipped by the Mexican in her favor 21-11, to achieve victory by two sets to one.

Installed in the final, Sabrina, second seed, had as a rival for the title and gold the Peruvian Inés Lucía Castillo, first seed, who arrived without losing a set and imposed her favorite law, to defeat the Las Tunas player in straight sets, 21-15 and 21-16, to thus remain with the victory and the top of the podium, leaving Solís with the silver and second position.
