After Varaždin and Lokomotiv shared the points in the match of the 14th round of the Supersport HNL, the coach and sports director of Varaždin Nikola Šafarić commented on the outcome of the match, pointing out that a draw is probably the fairest result.
“We should be happy with this point because, to be honest, we didn’t look our best in the first half. In the second half, we got up a little, it was a little better. Those changes we made brought liveliness and a somewhat higher quality game,” said Šafarić. Although Varaždin managed to equalize in the end and was closer to victory, Šafarić believes that the match was even and that both teams had their chances to win. “It was a game with 3-4 serious situations on both sides. She could have gone either way. Perhaps, according to everything shown, this is a well-deserved division of points.”
With this draw, Varaždin kept fourth place in the ranking. Now they are waiting for the last games of the half-season in which they want to further strengthen their position in the upper part of the table. The first challenge is Šibenik on Friday, November 29.
