The “Stage to Jobs” operation allows recruiters and job seekers to meet in a rather original way. During this event organized by France Travail, nearly 90 job seekers and around twenty employers found themselves practicing physical activity without knowing each person’s status. The goal is to break the codes of a job interview. This Thursday, the operation took place at the Saint-Avold Dojo.
Sound No. 1 – Recruitment on the tatami with the ”from the Stadium to employment” operation
In the room, on the mats, job seekers and employers take part in exercises around Judo, without knowing the function of the other. During the break Alissa describes the activities to us.
Being blindfolded and letting yourself be guided, or falling back and trusting the other person not to fall to the ground. There are a lot of trust exercises, and with strangers, it’s quite complicated sometimes.
Exercises based on trust, perfect for discovering each person’s human qualities, such as interpersonal skills. Mélissa is one of the employers.
Today, interpersonal skills are something super important, it allows us to see candidates who can have good interpersonal skills in business, but also good team spirit, and all these values.
This way of recruiting makes it possible to remove the conventional barriers of an interview, as Stefanie tells us.
It breaks the codes of recruitment, already just the fact of being able to speak informally. Above all, it allows the candidate to have another approach, to be a little more comfortable and the interviews are more constructive.
After a sporty morning in anonymity, it’s time for interviews. Matthieu Studer is regional coordinator of stages towards employment for France Travail.
We remove the masks, the candidates will stay on one side, and the recruiters will receive them. The goal is to establish contacts which allow either immediate contract signings, or to generate a dynamic which can be continued by setting up training before hiring, or periods of professional immersion.
Last year, 7 out of 10 people found a job three months after their participation.
