After Derek Carr threw him a pass up the middle, Olave was hit by two Panthers defenders and was immediately believed to be seriously injured.

The problem is that Olave suffered his second concussion this season. He suffered his first loss during Week 6 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The result of the concussion caused him to miss one game in Week 8.

According to Saints interim coach Darren Rizzi, “He wants to follow the process carefully and make sure he makes the best decision for Chris Olave, taking football out of that equation… We’re more concerned about Chris Olave as a person.” and to make sure everything goes well.”
Olave’s situation is reminiscent of one involving Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. Tagovailoa suffered his third recorded concussion and second scare of his young career in Week 2 when he collided head-on with Buffalo Bills defensive end Damar Hamlin.
After Tagovailoa was shown performing the “fencing stance,” many called on him to retire and think more about his health than football. Tagovailoa passed many tests and decided he would continue to play football. He has since returned.
Olave will likely undergo the same type of testing as he seeks opinions from professionals who can determine whether playing soccer will be safe for him in the future.
Naturally, Tagovailoa received a clean bill of health and was able to return to the field. The same could happen with Olave. However, he has suffered two concussions in less than a month, which could be a cause for concern.
Olave will turn to the pros to determine his NFL future, and the Saints will then decide whether to place him on IR or play through the remainder of 2024. Time will tell what will happen, but there are many who were not happy. about the events that occurred.
