San Luis shone at the Evita Games in “La Feliz”

Despite a significant reduction by the national government in the sports program of the Evita 2024 Games, the San Luis delegation was present with a delegation of 331 people and stood out in Mar del Plata. This year, the competition went from 45 to 27 conventional disciplines and from 12 to 7 in adapted sports. However, the cut was not an obstacle for the San Luis athletes, who return to the province with a notable harvest of 46 medals, in addition to outstanding achievements in team sports and exemplary performance in each discipline, both on and off the field.

On Saturday the last finals were held, where San Luis had a prominent role in boxing, BMX and men’s futsal. In boxing, Priscila Romero from Villa Merced won the silver medal in the up to 50 kg category and expressed her satisfaction with the effort made: “I feel good because I know I gave it my all. Next year I’m going to give it my all again to come back, train and win.” In BMX freestyle, Micaela López won the bronze medal by finishing in third place, while, in men’s futsal, the team led by Martín Mazza fought until the end in the match for third place against Río Negro, falling on penalties. after a goalless draw in regulation time.

Evita Games, 46 medals for San Luis

In addition to the medal table, other important achievements stand out. San Luis became team champion in weightlifting, an unprecedented achievement in the provincial history of the discipline, and obtained second place in the team cup in badminton. In adapted sports, the delegation achieved 10 titles in disciplines such as sitting volleyball, athletics and adapted swimming, reflecting the growth of adapted sports schools developed by the provincial government through the Sports Secretariat. Other notable results include fourth place in men’s futsal, fifth place for Priscila Pereyra in fencing and seventh place for the women’s volleyball team, its best position in the history of these Games.
