The Santa Fe delegation participated with great success in the ‘Evita’ National Games that took place in Mar del Plata. In total, the ‘La Invincible’ team made up of 275 athletes won 89 medals and 10 cups in both individual and team competitions, thus achieving 99 awards.
The Games began on Monday the 4th and continued until this Saturday the 9th. At the official opening of the contest, the Santa Fe delegation participated in the opening parade, being represented by the standard bearer Silvina Soledad Barbona, who performs in the adapted shot put discipline.
‘The Invincible’, up high
From a strictly sporting point of view, the Santa Fe delegation won 10 cups, 33 gold medals, 30 silver and 26 bronze medals in individual events. These decorations, which in total reach 99, correspond to the disputes held throughout the week in the following 32 disciplines: Athletics, Adapted Athletics, Badminton, 3×3 Basketball, Adapted 3×3 Basketball, Boccia, Boxing, Canoeing, Cycling , Fencing, Futsal, Goalball, Beach Handball, Hockey, Judo, Karate, Olympic Lifting, Wrestling, Swimming, Adapted Swimming, Rugby, Skate, Taekwondo, Tennis, Table Tennis, Adapted Table Tennis, Shooting, Archery, Triathlon, Volleyball, Beach Volleyball, Sitting Volleyball.

The athletes who represented ‘La Invincible’ in the National Games reached this stage thanks to the Santa Fe en Movimiento Program, an initiative of the government of the province of Santa Fe through the ministries of Equality and Human Development, Education and the Secretariat. of Cooperation.
Through the program, young people from all over the province participated in more than 250 qualifying events, with their respective local, departmental and provincial stages (between July and October) to access the national competition. The athletes came through 1,000 educational institutions and 23 provincial federations. In this way, the members of the Santa Fe delegation come from 17 departments: 9 de Julio, Belgrano, Castellanos, Garay, General López, General Obligado, Iriondo, La Capital, Las Colonias, Rosario, San Cristóbal, San Javier, San Jerónimo, San Justo, San Lorenzo, San Martín and Vera.
