Seattle Seahawks in low form: Geno Smith practices self-criticism

After a furious start to the season with three wins from three games, the <a href="https://www.archysport.com/2022/01/ben-roethlisberger-the-retirement-of-an-nfl-legend-with-steelers/" title="Ben Roethlisberger, the retirement of an NFL legend with Steelers”>Seattle Seahawks‘ form curve has flattened significantly. From the last five NFL games, head coach Mike Macdonald‘s team was only able to win one game in their favor.

There was recently a clear 10:31 defeat against the Buffalo Bills, in which the offense around quarterback Geno Smith remained largely pale.

Although Smith was able to move the ball through the air, he was unable to convert numerous third downs into new first downs.

Reason enough for Smith to express criticism after the game, including of himself.

“I don’t like losing. That’s stupid, I hate it. When I watch myself, I have to tell myself that I have to keep motivating the guys. And if I’m honest, I have to in times when it’s not runs, do a better job.

He was particularly annoyed by a “taunting” flag. After gaining space, he threw the ball towards the opponent, the referee team punished the throw as a provocation. The Seahawks then had to punt.

“This can’t happen to me,” Smith said. “I just need to have a better poker face and work on it.”
