The worries at Hamburger SV are getting bigger. The promotion candidate also lost at Kellerkind Braunschweig. Even a saved penalty couldn’t prevent the next defeat. Miroslav Klose missed the win against his hometown club.
There was also nothing to gain from the relegation candidate. Hamburger SV is in a real crisis in the second division. The big promotion favorite lost 1:3 (0:1) at the start of the 12th matchday against Eintracht Braunschweig, who were previously second to last in the table, and have now been without a win in four competitive games, including the DFB Cup.
In front of 22,418 spectators, Rayan Philippe (35th/65th minute) and Fabio Di Michele Sanchez (49th) scored twice for a clearly better and more passionate unity for a long time. In the first half, the outsider even missed a penalty. In the final phase, HSV almost came close again after Lukasz Poreba made it 3-1 (73′) and hit the post twice.
“We had a very good phase up until the Magdeburg game. “It has now torn down a bit in just two weeks,” said captain Sebastian Schonlau. “Today the many individual mistakes put a damper on our plans.”
Hamburg had a great chance to take the lead in the 4th minute when Ransford-Yeboah Königsdörffer ran all alone towards the Braunschweig goal. However, the striker failed due to Marko Johansson, who only plays for Eintracht on loan from HSV.
After that, the Hamburg team disappointed in every respect. HSV keeper Daniel Heuer Fernandes saved Johan Gomez’s penalty kick in the 25th minute. Ten minutes later, Hamburg deservedly trailed after Jonas Meffert lost the ball with serious consequences.
Even in the second half there was no sign of rebellion for a long time. Until the score was 1:3, Hamburg ran into one Braunschweig counterattack after the other. After that the game could have changed again. But a shot from 17-year-old Otto Stange hit the crossbar and the post of the Eintracht goal (82′). Davie Selke also hit the post with a header (88th).
Kaiserslautern’s goalkeeper secures the point
Miroslav Klose missed a win with 1. FC Nürnberg against his old football love 1. FC Kaiserslautern and a jump into the promotion zone. The “Club” dominated the Max Morlock Stadium and had tons of chances, but coach Klose’s team couldn’t reward themselves with a 0-0 draw. Also because Lautern’s goalkeeper Julian Krahl could not be overcome in front of 37,197 spectators.
“It was a very dominant performance by my team. We can already say that we have lost two points,” said Klose: “We created chances, clear chances. Overall I was satisfied again. Of course you’re a little annoyed. But things will go back in.”
After just a few seconds, it was FCN playmaker Julian Justvan who forced Krahl to make his first save. After that, it was Nuremberg’s striker Stefanos Tzimas who came into action again and again. Once the Greek delicately tipped the ball onto the inside post from an acute angle (16th), another time the youngster failed due to the brilliant Krahl (40th).
This was also the case after the break, when Tzimas – cleared by Danilo Soares – was again unable to get past the goalkeeper (50′). Lautern rarely took place offensively. If so, then it was striker Ragnar Ache who became dangerous. Ache shot over the goal twice (53rd/84th). And once Jan Reichert held strong (56th). Nuremberg were closer to victory overall. But Rafael Lubach also failed with a volley shot past Krahl (76th).
