SG Judoka successful in Schweinfurt

The Judo beginners tournament in Schweinfurt was an exciting event for the 25 children who came from Eltmann to gain their first experience in competition. The judo department of SG Eltmann, known for its excellent youth work, represented the largest group of participants and thus showed its commitment to the sport and the development of young talents.

The support from parents was evident as they enthusiastically cheered on their children from the sidelines, which undoubtedly added to the positive atmosphere of the tournament. The young judoka from SG Eltmann showed impressive performances, which was reflected in nine first places, five second places, six third places and five fourth places. This team success is a clear sign of the excellent work of the coaches Kristina Strauß and Volker Braut, who have created the basis for these successes with their dedication and expertise.

In the age groups under nine and under eleven, a points system was used in which the fighters received points for their techniques. An early victory was awarded once a fighter reached eight points, highlighting the dynamic and strategic aspect of the sport of judo. With a pure competition time of two minutes per encounter, speed and efficiency were required, and the judoka had to demonstrate their skills in throws and holding techniques on the ground.

This tournament was not only a test of their technical skills, but also of their mental strength and sportsmanship. Such events are crucial for the development of young talent in sport and provide a platform where they can not only demonstrate their skills but also learn important values such as team spirit, discipline and respect. The sport of judo, known for its emphasis on respect and fairness, provides an excellent foundation for young people to develop important life skills.
